I made this necklace from a strand of genuine vintage turquoise nuggets — each one slightly different in shape, matrix pattern, and color depth, because that is what real turquoise looks like. I love how earthy and warm this stone is. I chose rust-toned faux leather for the cord because it pulls out that warmth and keeps the whole piece grounded.
Antiqued silver accent beads and stacked spacer rings run along the strand, then transition into the leather cord. The result is a 21-inch necklace that feels substantial without being heavy — which is exactly why people end up wearing it as their everyday piece.
